This is Eve, my affectionate, 9 week old little follower. Lately I've been having suspicions that Eve may be an Adam. Since this is my first time with turkeys, I'm very inexperienced. She/he will chase any chickens away from me when were outside and I've been seeing, kind of a strut. It's not as obvious as my other, obvious Tom's strut though. He/she is very sweet and snuggles up with the little ones in the brooder (little ones are about 4 weeks old now). What do you think?
Toms strut, they get larger tails, toms lose their head feathers faster than hens, they have heavier feet and legs, they grow a beard (some hens grow small beards), they have a large snood and wattles. It should be obvious by 4 months if it is a tom or hen.
Eve is now officially Adam. These are some updated pictures of him. I've seen him strutting over the past week or so and I'm even working on getting him to strut on command lol. He's still my little buddy
