Bout to give up on chickens!!

It does, but they enjoy scratch and it doesn't hurt them every now and then. Do they ever get grass and bugs and get out for free-range time?

They don't get to free range bc of to many cats in the neighborhood and other predators but I do feed them fodder (sprouts)

What about the water? Is it clean? Easily accessible?

Yes the water is clean I change it everyday and clean the waterers once a week I also add acv a couple times a week

Try moving your pen/run/coop to another are of the property? I'm running out of ideas if it's not the food. I will say, if they are large breeds, they may just be scattering the crumles and not eating it. I have silkies and large breeds and I have to buy pellets and crumle. Annoying, but my RIRs, Austolorpes, Orpingtons and EE's were just strowing the cruble all over and not really eating it.

I have silkies and polish I have been thinking about building their pens off the ground!! Idk if that will help I don't mind spending the money as long as they live. I love my chickens they are my entertainment and hobby!!
