Hi can anyone help. i have 3 chicken that i have had for about 3 months now, having picked them up at around 8 weeks i think. Anyhow the Bovan Goldline was the first to lay and was laying daily, but for the last two weeks she has been laying flat wet eggs ( due to being so thin) that are pale almost white, in color and rip like rubbery paper. The other two, an Amber lee and a Sussex Star were later to start laying but now lay most days and great eggs. I started them on growers pellets but moved onto layers pellets, and give them some small holding mixed corn in the evening. they are in a pen but probably every other day they have the whole garden to find things too.
Any ideas? I know the layers pellets have lime stone in them, but i would also say she started laying less since they went onto layers but this could be coincidence.
Hope someone can help as they give us loads of joy.

Hi,

This is common with new layers but they don't all do it. It wouldn't hurt to give them some extra calcium in the form of oyster shell. I'm sure she will get it right yet! Good luck!
