Bowling Green Ohio! I need your help!

Hi everyone,
My first post here, and Im looking for Bowling Green Ohio residents to help me.
The fight to get backyard chickens legal in my small town has been pretty longstanding, and had very little success.
I have contacted city council to try to find out how I can start a new round in getting something on the books.
I know its a long shot looking for BG residents here, but its worth the shot.
Anyone else that has had luck getting the laws changed in your areas please feel free to chime in with tips, and hints.
Im doing alot of research on this site, and Ill be sure to read all the stickies posted in this section.

It's important to get at least one ally on the council.
It's also important that council members know what backyard chickens are like. If they've never seen a backyard coop, they envision a stinky eyesore.
Find a local chicken coop that's pretty and clean. Recruit some of the council members to visit the site. You could volunteer to drive them all there.

It astounds me that they vote up or down on something they know nothing about.

Also recruit your neighbors and any chicken keepers in the area at large to pack city hall at each council meeting. If you think you'll get a good turn out, invite the local media. We had TV and newspaper at most of the meetings. Virtually everyone in town has seen me on TV fighting city hall.
I can't mention chickens in public without someone saying, "are you the guy that the city was trying to make get rid of his chickens?"
Even rap stations were singing my praises.

See if you have a chicken meetup group locally and if you don't, start one.

Can you manage to create a petition along with each signature the person may wright their opion of why the chickens should be kept.

I am in Doylestown, Ohio and in the township so we have no restrictions. I heard that Streetsboro is now alowed to have chickens in the city. Maybe someone can check with them to find out what process they used to change the laws there. I found out some interesting info. from the Wayne county health dept. last week. I can have up to 500 chickens before I have to follow any regulations. I can reuse store egg cartons for the eggs we sell at our home and I could sell my eggs at farmers markets. If I am selling live meat chickens my flock would not have any regulations if under 1000 birds. Crazy isn't it!

I know this is an older post, but I just joined. I'm from BG too, and want chickens as well. Has there been any movement on the subject?
