Boy Brahmas are so small!

Yeah these guys are just hatchery chicks..I tried to find out what kind of things I should look for in these guys ...one reply said look for more grey on them, I didn't really know what that meant as these guys seemed to have a lot of blkish/drk drk grey on the back some more light grey but some darker grey..so? Oh well? I hope they turn out pretty.

The chicks usually ARE light yellow/grey... hard to tell when they're still fuzz, though.

I took some photos of my birds today... I'll see if I can post some. They're 8 weeks now.

They're going into my layer flock, though... not quite good enough to try breeding.

Oh yes, I would love to see pics if you get a chance. I think these guys are so pretty, I can't wait until they are giants. haha. Oh and join the other group.

My two 6 week old light brahma's are my biggest chicks! (They are part of a sexed batch of chicks I got from my local feed store who got them from Privett's -- I'm hoping they're pullets!)

They are gorgeous, where did you find them? I have been trying to get some Brahma chicks but failed. I am in Malibu and would happily drive to Central Coast if that feed store still has some. Please let me know, and if you have their phone#, I'm desperate!

As you can see... LOTS of black on the head, back, wings... the shape of the hackle feathers is all wrong on some of them... they're pretty, but not even close to breeder status.

Soooo, to the layer flock they go. Except the roos... they will likely have a freezer party in a couple more months. :|

Oh they are adorable. My Lt Brahma was the biggest fluffball at 2 days old but the others quickly outgrew her...now at 25 weeks old she is the biggest and is head honcho. So, I would not worry that they are smaller right now...
