He started crowing two days ago...sadly I can't find him a home. What to do...what to do... sigh...

Well that 2 day old chick is now a little over a week old and is still crowing here and there. I've been trying to get it on video but it never fails that as soon as the camera is out everyone stops their antics and watches my every move.

Have you tried posting an ad on CL for him? Likely he is just practice crowing right now and it probably sounds raspy and scratchy. If you are in a neighborhood I don't think your neighbors will even notice since it is much less annoying than a barking dog.

When in doubt, honesty is the best policy. Let your neighbors know that you are trying to rehome him and he will be gone soon and thank them in advance for their patience. If you catch him crowing you can always squirt him with the hose--it will give him something else to focus on and in hot NV he'd probably thank you for cooling him down

As long as he isn't full on crowing (which he wont be for a few weeks) I think you are in good shape.

Thank you everyone for all your help and suggestions. I've found them a home, I hope it's a good one...you never know though...feeling very sad right now...
