Is there any way you can get some clear close up photos of head, face, comb? Do you know how much silkie is in this bird? I would expect to see a crest and possibly also a beard. I think I see 5 toes on the one foot anyway.

Yes I will get some closer photos. The bird is 1/2 Silkie, and 1/2 EE. It does have 5 toes on both feet, as well as a beard. No crest.

Comb pictures will help, posture and leg size makes me think cockerel initially. I just hatched out some silkie-EE crosses, father was a black silkie and mom a red EE. Not a single crest, all black birds too.

That is so interesting. All of my silkie hybrids have had crests, regardless of the other breed involved.

I was expecting crests too! They all have muffs, one has a beard, their build seems more like an EE but with feathered legs and polydactylism. One has 7 toes on one foot! Hoping at least one is a pullet, only 4 weeks old at the moment. Photo is from about a week and half ago.

I have had silkies with 7 toes on one foot, from parents who only had the usual 5!
