Good Morning Everyone! Would anyone like to tell me if my little Star is a boy or girl? Star was an assisted hatch on day 24. (S)he started off with curled toes we treated with VetWrap/cardstock sandals, and a week or so later, I posted pictures of scratches on her legs and toes which we determined was because (s)he was stepping on her/his own feet! (S)he grew out of that habit and her scratches are gone. Cute little chick who follows the silkie surrogate Mom around everywhere.

I hope these links to a couple of Google Photos works! Meet Star....

Girl, she looks like a white black tailed japaneses bantam
Yay, Hoping for a girl. She is what my daughter calls a 'barnyard mutt'!! The rooster would have been either a leghorn (this is my guess for 'Daddy'), a barred rock, and a white silkie. The hen could have been a number of different ones - silkie, americauna, leghorn, polish, d'uccle, possibly others I've forgotten! Colouring and lack of 'poufy' head makes me think that Mom was not silkie, polish or d'uccle.

Well she's cute what ever she is.
