Okay all, this is the LAST chick of my first ever hatch which is so far 4/5 BOYS! I've been hesitant to post Ash, because it's the one I'm most hopeful could be a girl. But I'm uncertain.

Ash is 7 weeks old. Papa is red orpington and mama is lavender orpington. Ash has a decent sized comb, but it's still very yellow compared to the other cockerels. Ash is the most timid of the chicks. The personality is very chill, laid-back, and not at all "roostery" but then again, his papa was the same way. Ash also has really large legs (as does his mama). So, what do you think? Do I get at least 1 girl in this milestone flock of mine?

Also, at what age can you start to tell a differnce between rooster feathers and hen feathers?

So happy to finally have ONE girl in my first ever hatch. One of my cockerels started crowing already at 7 weeks! I didn't think they started that young, but perhaps since he has a crowing role model he's picked it up sooner... 🤷‍♀️
