Got this bird at a swap a couple of weeks ago. Not sure about the age exactly, but it's supposed to be pure lavender ameraucana. I was pretty sure at the time that it is a pullet, and so was the seller. But since I've had it in quarantine there seem like some awfully skinny feathers growing in at the back end. Anyone care to hazard a guess? I think she's somewhere close to 4 months, but that's a guess. Really want it to be a girl, because I've fallen in love - it's such a sweet bird, and beautiful to boot. So go on - take a vote!

The comb looks a little pinkish, I don't see wattles...and if it's about 4 months, I'm going to say it's a pullet! I hope so for your case, but she's a beauty!

I sure hope so - I'm in love with this little "girl"!! She's the sweetest bird I've had so far, and it sure doesn't hurt that she's gorgeous. I was just worried by the skinny feathers I see growing in - I can't tell if they're tail feathers or saddle feathers, but they've had me worried. Anyone else want to chime in? Anyway I'll keep you posted. And thanks! So far I feel very reassured!
