Boy or Girl? Please no Roos!

Okay, I'm really hoping that Fern isn't Frank.

lol She's an "Americana" and has tufts, but also has this big tail, that looks to me a little roosterish.. please say she's a hen! She's about 2.5 months old, and I haven't heard any crowing. Does anyone know when Roosters usually start crowing?

Looks like a hen to me. EEs (which she is) sometimes have rooish tails, what you need to look for is curved saddle feathers rather than just a long tail.

a rooster would have curled under tail feathers!

My EE boy was crowing at about 10 weeks and you could clearly see saddle feathers at 2 months.
