Boy or Girl

I have chicks about 5 weeks old. One of them has a different tail from the rest. It is a taller more fan-like tail, whereas all the others are lower and more horizontally positioned. Could it be that she is a he after all?

look at the combs which is on top of the head. if the comb is farther back on the head it is a rooster if the comb is shorter than it is a hen

I don't see any combs yet.......when do they get those?

You can usually see them as soon as they hatch....when they do hatch, it's just very small. But it's there. A chick with a rose or pea comb is harder too see, it looks more like a lump.
