They look like they're about 4 weeks old to me. The first one is male, the rest look like females.

Yeah, I was gonna mention that they do not look 2-3 weeks old - a bit older. Maybe 3.5 or 4 ishThey look like they're about 4 weeks old to me. The first one is male, the rest look like females.
You're very welcome! Many many many thanks to everyone.![]()
Thank you, mine has just vertical nipples with nothing under them, maybe I can put something like a little bottle cap just under it? Tha waterer is outside the cage and just the nipples are in, so it's simple to fix something on the wall of the cage.Quail can use nipples btw. I start mine at 3 weeks. Put the new waterer in and press the nipples so they have a bit of water underneath on the little protrusion, every hour or so press the nipples again, and they should figure it out after a few go arounds.
Beards are not gender specific. That just happens when the feathers get rumpled. At their age, those are pretty definitely spots. They might fade, but it's unlikely at this point.I'm going to disagree with everyone and say 4 and 5 could go either way. Sort of leaning toward boys due to the possible appearance of a beard.
Yeah, I was fooled by this boy though, and I'm seeing white necks on the last two. Some of my birds just do not conform to the standards so I'm looking for something better than "spots or no spots", to look for, I guess.Beards are not gender specific.
