Hi,

About 3 weeks ago i hatched bunch of barred rocks.
I kept the two girliest chicks..one's tail is a bit longer and the other is a little more feathery.
But both are darker then the other chicks, with dark colored legs and a smaller comb.

What do you say? boys or girls?

can't see comb or wattles, need face pics. but they are probably too young to tell yet..

Your options are: feather sex them on day 1, or wait til it crows... sorry. anything else is just a guess :) one looks more feathered than the other, could be a pullet.

Pullets is my guess. We're raising 40 for 4-H - ordered pullets and got one boy. They are 5 weeks now.

He's been an obvious lighter gray color and has had a more pronounced comb in size and redder in color since 3 weeks, and no black on his legs. It was pretty obvious even at 2 weeks, he took on the Paul Revere attitude anytime he'd hear a strange noise, first one to run up, stand up, and go on alert.

The head spots don't tell you a thing...I can attest to comparing and staring at 40 of these little buggers. lol

I think he is a serama\serama cross.

i hatched him with the barred rocks.. he is tiny.

Looks like hens to me, for future reference, BR's can be sexed by looking at the back of their head, they'll have a light brown dot or they might not, i believe dot = female. I can't remember for sure though, it's been 8 months since i got mine..
