Be carefull, turkeys share some dieseases with chickens, and they can kill them. If your getting them anywhere than from your own hatched eggs, you'll have to keep the turkeys seperate. I think, ironically, they are ok with the ducks, and will eat the same game bird starter, but DON'T give ducks or turkeys medicated chick starter. (although, I've heard, NOT SURE, that the new meds won't hurt them, but the old ones did, and I never feed them medicated). I never keep turkeys anywhere near chickens. Ever.

oh ya, i forgot about that, we ALWAYS house them together, never had a prob with black head, we kept our ducks seperate from out chickens cause they made such a mess with 1 drop of water, it was ridoculous! We have them eat the same food, and they were fine, so I dunno

If its not a problem in your area, and it may not be considering you freeze the germies every winter most thoroughly. If it works, by all means....

Ya, AK is good/bad for poultry Good- most diseases/fleas and stuff, die in winter Bad- winter cold! cant wait to get our duckies! their so cute, we have a small pond and we have them swim in it! So cute, but our feed store said not to let them swin until they are older..? doesnt make sense since in the wild the duckies follow the mom in the water
