Ya i like the idea because i don't have to run cables to the coop. We normally run extension cords in the winter to run a heating lamp and sometimes a heater. And we're in LOUISIANA. Yet last year it got down to 10.

So when i build the new coop, kill 2 birds with one stone. buy some cheap solar cells off ebay, stick um together and keep the chickies warm and dry.
