I need to eat some males.
Is it safe to say these are male?

That sounds accurate to me, ruddy-breasted vs speckle-breasted. Wait for more opinions, though (I'm not super solid on the tuxedos, don't know if it changes anything sexing-wise).

They really are cute - I love those white patches and stripes! I suppose #2 could be hiding spots below the white patch, making it a female with very few spots and an unusually orange breast color, but I don't find that very likely. At 8 weeks though, it should be possible to vent sex them, right? I'd do that just to be sure. I've been trying it a few times on my mature male to get familiar with the method and it really isn't difficult at all..

I don't think I am going to even try to vent sex them.
I wouldn't know what to look for anyways.


I am going to go with my gut, I think, and "help" 3 of the 4 pharaoh colored males and leave my three unknown (I think female) tuxedo ones for now.

We are on the same page. I'm just not sure about the sex of post 5. I was under the impression that tuxedos have to be vent sexed. Did you try that? I have one so I'm going to have to try it or catch it crowing...or not.
