Alpha is the one with the whiter head, longer tail feathers and slightly redder comb.

Sorry for the quality of pics; they were feeling a little camera shy

Hmmm.....I'd say 'Alpha" is a roo, and 'Zeta' looks like one, too....my BR roo had a comb and wattles that looked like that at about 5 weeks. I hope I'm wrong!!! Good luck, maybe someone else can give you a more definative answer!

Thanks for the welcome, Jade, and for the replies. However, I am now a little sad because we can't keep roosters in the city

Is there still a possibility that they could be pullets? BPR hens get red combs and wattles, right? When will I know for sure?

Sorry to sound so much like a newbie...

I think they are both roos also. I have two BRs one is 8wks and the other is 7wks. My 8wk is almost definitely a pullet and while her comb and wattles are pink, they are nowhere near as big as yours. The jury is still out on my 7wk old but even if that one is a roo, it doesn't have any real wattles and its comb isn't at all pink and slightly smaller than yours.
