BR hen with spurs?

Our 4 year old BR hen has the stumps where spurs would be. No nail but has the stumps. Is this normal? Just noticed it today as she went after the newest flock member.

I have two polish hens with spur bumps...they are almost a year old.

Yes, it's normal. I've had several hens with spurs.

I have a hen with one big spur that'd do a rooster proud. She complains a lot too. I worry more about why she's so talkative than about her spur.

Yes, hens can have spurs also. This is a picture of my buttercup when she was molting, but if you look closely, you can see her spurs as well.
