BR roo. How's this guy look?

Look under this same subforum at the good sheperd BRs. There are several places to get good ones and just google it and you should find something. The only thing a hatchery bird has in common with a heritage barred rock is barred feathers. All heritage birds are the same way when it comes from a hatchery. Hatchery birds make great egg layers so I usually buy them for eggs. They lay about as well as the production reds but seem to get along better than the reds to me.

I had 3 BR roos in my order with the intent of keeping the best looking one, 1 was nice, one was so so and one never really came on. Well the one that was so so turned out to be the biggest and most pleasing to the eye (mine). Feathering and markings are even the tail is long and up. He's a hatchery bird and probably nowhere near the standard. Struts around in a real nice proud pose. Plus he turned out to be a real gentleman. Takes his responsibilty for the guarding of the girls very seriously. The other 2 I gave away. The pic to the left was taken at 14 wks.
