We just dusted it off, a drop of oil, plugged it in, and it worked!

At today's meeting they put all the horizontal strips together to make quilt tops. One group did blue and one pink. These are the kits we got through Donorschoose! We are making two of the quilts and we will will auction or raffle them off to raise money for next years group to have supplies to start with. The two boys are such clowns!! The ditch basketball practice on Wednesdays to be at the club meetings, they are good!!! I don't know if you can see it in the pics but the machine to the right of the two is missing the cover over the bobbin, we've had a little trouble with that but it's working out. It's a loaner from a parent who hasn't used it in a long time.

Absolutely fantastic Writer!!! You know, even just the basic skill of sewing a straight seam can be so empowering to a kid. Once they begin to imagine, just watch them go!! They can alter clothing, make useful things like quilts, & blankets, pillowcases, aprons, hotpads, ..... oh it's just so EXCITING!!! Feel proud, Writer of Words ~ you are enabling a whole new generation of fabriholics & yarn stashers!!! You're my kinda gal!! ;-D

Thank you all, I hate to see my class go every year, but they keep in contact constantly. I know they will miss me too, some of them lol!! It's an odd thing I know but last night our portables were tagged with gang graffiti and my portable was the only one not touched!
