Ok, I will take pictures in the morning and continue to give her the vitamin B. Is that an ok amount per day? I am worried that if this is the vitamin B deficiency it might have permanent damage now but hoping not . Thank you so much!

1/4-1/2tablet daily is fine.

Looks like she has Scaly Leg Mites, I'd treat for that. She has scabs on her face/comb from picking or minor injury, likely that's where the blood is coming from.

Any lesions or scabs on the bottom of her feet?

I can check her feet but pretty sure her nose is bleeding. I've caught her as the nose is bleeding, I can take pictures next time, and there is a big scab just blocking up the opening, there was one 2 days ago. And the blood is coming from her nose and in one bad circumstance it was dripping down her beak. The scabs on her comb are from when a different chicken gave her some minor pecks, they healed up within a day. It doesn't seem like she is coughing up blood, so not sure where it is coming from. Also, could you just give me some new instructions on treating SLM? I was doing it when she first went lame, giving her feet warm epsom salt baths and then vaseline, but it didn't really do much. Also is it ok that after you put the vaseline on she gets straw and dirt stuck to her feet and feathers? It's quite annoying applying the vaseline to feather legged birds...

That is the pretty standard treatment for scaly leg mites, soaking and then applying the vaseline at least 2-3 times a week. It just has to be done for weeks. The only thing I know of that can cause bleeding from the beak or nostrils is a respiratory disease called ILT. Usually those birds are gaping and coughing.

Exactly, I'm quite confused by the bleeding. I don't think that it is ILT because apparently ILT is very contagious and I have seen no other symptoms of that, like gasping, coughing, bloody nose, etc. I also have one other chicken who I think has SLM, so I will also treat her too. I was thinking that maybe I should buy some DE to put in their dust bathing area, but I'm not sure and/or do you have any better solutions?

Hi there! So I wanted to update, because she seems to be showing some different symptoms now. She has been holding her head slightly tilted up and her neck has been quivering, not like twisting upside down, but just quivering barely from side to side, what could be causing this? Also, as I have mentioned, she does not really lay that much any more, we haven't got any eggs from her this year, although she usually lays a couple every spring, but we still feed. her the layer pellets (we used to use crumble, decided to try out pellets a few weeks ago) but does she really need the extra calcium and protein or should I get some all flock feed that is more balanced? Also, should I still offer her food all day, because she doesn't really walk around that much anymore and I don't know if she needs unlimited access to food. The pellets we are using right now are Payback egg layer pellets, they have 17.5% crude protein, and then I think about 5% calcium, is that ok?
