brahma chicks?

I have a breeding pair of Brahma but want to have a bigger flock so I recently purchased 6 Brahma chicks at the local feed store. All the chicks that have hatched from my breeding pair have the feathered feet but the ones I purchased do not. Is this something that happens or did I just get ripped off?

brahmas of any color have feathered shanks, now the feathers could have been plucked out by other chicks before you got them or if they are young, they might have lost the leg fuzz in order to grow the feathers
