BRAHMA MAHMA TRAHMA! *Very sad update...*

oh no! poor little guy. definitely keep an eye on momma incase she decides to go after another hatchling. good luck with him, he is very lucky to have such a wonderful caregiver!

neosporin or some other petroleum based triple antibiotic on his head, drips of sugar or honey or molasses water if he will take it, not necessary though. warm - not hot- bedding and love.
good luck and welcome to parenting

When I went out to clean the blood up I took some warm water and dipped the q tip in. When I was cleaning his beak I dripped some clean water into his beak. He was chirping when I went in, and he's been moving around more. He seems pretty strong, I just think he can't see because his eyes are swollen. Have a heat lamp above him and will take some sugar water out to him right now. He's in the brooder and I'll check the hen to see if any more hatched every once in a while to put them in a brooder too...I don't know why she attacked him. Last year I had one chick hatch and all three hens were fine with the chick (I didn't separate them) I'm not sure what hen was the mother last year, and if it's the same one this year or not...but I'm suprised.

My mom says I should be a veterinarian. I've thought about it, but I have horrible allergies. Judging from this experience, when I have kids I will be the most protective mother ever...

haha! And you can all come visit me with your sick chickens! Discount for friends!

My mom says the exact same thing LOL... It probably has something to do with the fact that alot of my friends neghbors and family always call me for veterinary advice LOL
