Hi Everyone
I’m a new chicken mom 26 wk old Brahma 4 hens and 1 rooster They are awesome! My rooster “ Mr Rooster Cogburn” He is in love with me! When I let them out of their coop in the morning he does a happy dance ! If I talk to the girls first he gets mad and will peck my hand ! I pick him up give him hugs then he is fine! He follows me around and comes when I call him!

Could you describe that "happy dance"? Does he kind of stomp his feet in front of you? Does he drop his wings? Kind of circle around?

Yes he stomps his feet, wags his tail feathers and circle around! His he being bad? He doesn’t hurt me !

Isn’t that the “dance” roos do when they want the hens to mate with them.
My roo does that to the hens, especially when I first let them out in the morning.
Three of my pullets are still maturing so they just run away from him lol.
My SL will sometimes squat so he can mount her though. She’s matured faster then the others.

Not exactly normal, but it does happen. Normally the stomping and dancing is bad,but if he isn't taking it further I'm thinking it's just his age and he's showing off his manliness. My faverolles roo did the same, open the coop and immediately he was a member of stomp and riverdance combined. He was just a youngster like yours then, now he's creeping up on a year and he doesn't dance anymore. I miss it as it was a terribly funny thing to see first thing in the morning. :)
