As a long time lover of this site I am so glad I have finally joined and can post questions to you lovely folk.
I wish I could report some good news, but recently I have ran into a troubling situation.
I went to a local trade show and found a huge Brahma hen who I instantly fell in love with! I wish I had a good picture to showcase her voluptuous beauty. Anyway, after purchasing her I knew I had to have more and I found a local producer selling several Brahma pullets.
As I always do with my birds, I separate all of them for at least two weeks and monitor their health. After this time period everyone looked happy and healthy so I put my 5 brand new Brahman pullets in a coop with my big Brahma gal and 3 other birds I had recently bought along with her (silky, blue Americauna, and an old RIR hen).
Everyone was doing well, then a week went by and 2 of the new Brahmas just fell over. They looked ok besides the fact that they didnt want to move their legs. Fearing a bacterial infection I separated them from the rest and monitored them. They seemed well and where actually doing better (walking around, eating and drinking plenty, no discolored skin, eyes, feeces, and no runny nose or eyes) Then they just died.
I separated all the little Brahmas this time and waited 2 weeks. The day before yesterday everyone was doing well, (These birds had never looked sick anyway, I just separated them to be sure) so I put them back in with the other birds. Yesterday another Brahma died, same weak leggedness, but this time green feeces.
I swear I have never seen anything like this? I figured maybe Mareks, but why only symptoms when I put them with the other birds? And instant leg weakness at that with death soon after?
I also need to add that these babies are huge and no other chickens are messing with them (Which at first I thought maybe they were bullied to death, but no signs of that either?)
So does anyone have any good ideas???
Ive treated the whole flock now with antibacterial supplements, but only the little Brahmas are being affected.

Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
Also saw you were in Southern Ohio, which is right across the river from me. I actually got the Brahma in Lucasville.
