Brahmas - Why do they differ?

I got a brahma a couple months ago by mistake, but absolutely loooove her!! I was researching about the brahma breed and wondering why some are much taller with much thicker feathers on their legs. The obvious would be age, but it seems this happens even if they're the same age. I keep trying to "google" it, but I suppose I must not be phrasing my question right? I've inserted 2 images of what I'm talking about. These are NOT my brahmas, just pictures off the internet for reference. See the difference in the feather thickness and coverage on the legs? Why does that happen?

Just genetics. Like having platinum blonde hair vs dirty blonde. Or puffier feathers VS tighter feathers. Feather density, breakage, feather length etc are all controlled differently and could influence this.
