Do Brahmas behave well around other types of chickens? Especially Light Brahmas. I thought I heard somewhere that Brahmas get along with people but do not get along as well with other chickens. Any thoughts?

I've had Brahmas in mixed flocks many times and they've behaved just fine, even those I've introduced as adults.
They are big and tall though, so bantams can perhaps be intimidated by them?

Oh, Brahmas are the pussy cats of breeds! Generally they are very docile, both with humans and other breeds of chickens.

Of course, there are individual exceptions in temperament, and in any isolated situation, even the most docile Brahma will put her foot down and brook no foolishness from underlings.

I have a nine-year old Light Brahma hen who lounges about all day long, only occasionally joining in flock activities because she's above it all, been there, done that. But let a juvenile race by and annoy her, interrupting her serious relaxing, she is quick to lash out with a stern peck.

With humans, you won't find a more people friendly breed.

Thank you! :)
