We hatched 11 eggs in September and received at least 6 roosters but I think 7 and rest hens. The roosters are not friendly mainly one. Is this because there are to many of them? And if so what should I do with all but one or 2. They also are going after the rest of my hens. I don't have enough hens for roosters I know but would love some guidance.

they are big and beautiful. comb and wattles deep red. We have had a cold snap and I am surprised they are so good. My husband wants to eat them but we don't normally do that. We have dual purpose birds but we only do eggs.

I truly have no idea what I would even need to do to eat them. Do we separate and feed special food or just do it. No one around here wants roosters they all want hens.

Eat them, give them to someone else to eat, or build a completely separate coop and run for them. That many boys amongst the girls is asking for a bunch of torn up, tortured pullets.

Have a plan in place before you hatch eggs again, you can always count on roughly 50% males.

If they hatched in September they are big enough to eat now. You don't need to feed them any more. I don't know what kind of experience you or your husband have as far as butchering chickens or cleaning anything else for food. It can help if you hunt and clean game but you can learn. They will be a little too old to fry or grill so you'll need an alternate method of cooking them. There are a lot of threads in the meat bird section of this forum about those topics or you can start your own thread and ask your questions over there.

I'm not sure what country you are in so it's a bit challenging giving precise information as to how to sell them or give them away. Different countries have different ways of doing things. You can go to the Buy - Sell - Trade section of this forum and run an ad, just put your general location in the thread title to attract the attention of the people you want. You can try to find your state or country thread in the "Where am I? Where are you!" section of this forum and chat with your neighbors if it is an active thread. Sometimes chatting with people at the feed store can help. If they don't know somebody that can help you may be able to post a notice on a bulletin board. In the USA you might post an ad on Craigslist, maybe your country has something similar. Some areas have facebook or similar groups to talk chickens. Many areas of the USA have animal auctions.

The odds are that if you sell or give them away they will be eaten. Some people have trouble with that.
