Braided rugs? anyone?

I'm starting one now using old jeans. After my boys went through their jeans this year I had quite a stack. There are some great videos on youtube explaining how to make them. Basically you cut them into 2" strips, sew them together to make long strips and fold them in half as you braid.

BTW - your rug is gorgeous!

I love it.

For some reason rug braiding is like knitting for me. I can do it if forced but I just can't get the rhythm of it. I do make toothbrush rugs though.

Try hitting the thrift stores for wool stuff, I find skirts and cut them down into strips and they are ususally pretty cheap!
