Folger's Coffee.
Gold Medal Flour.
Betty Crocker cake mix.
Crest toothpaste.
Best Foods mayonnaise.
Dove bar soap.
Pantene shampoo and conditioner.

Store brand bread, cereal and ice cream is garbage.

Just about everything store brand except my Viva Paper Towels.

You get what you pay for in paper towels. Everyone says oh these 79 cent rolls are cheaper...
but you have to buy like 3 rolls of them for what Viva can do...

VIVAAA!

...and yes, I shout that everytime I grab them off the self at walmart.

Oh..I dont buy store brand chicken, bacon, shampoos, soaps, toilet paper, or hair ties.
It does save alot of money when you buy all store brand.
Has anyone else noticed walmart took all the colors out of their packages?

I try to buy fresh and local when possible....and I try to make most of my own toiletries, but there are some items.......

Scott Toilet paper (just can't stand the stuff that crumbles in you hand)

Yuban Coffee (can't grow coffee here!)

Adams All Natural Peanut Butter ( don't live in Georgia, n local peanuts!)

Redkin Shampoo & Conditioner (homemade just can't control my curly hair)

And if I have to buy canned good, I try to find items that do NOT contain high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils or modified food stuff......I like to keep it real!

Yes I have. I've heard through the grapevines it's to help save money. Since plastic is white to begin with they don't have to pay for the coloring and it helps the customer see which one is the store-brand faster.

I personally think it makes it look cheap and deters me from buying but those prices draw me back in!

Only Maxwell House coffee
Angel Soft Toilet paper
ALL detergent
Kraft Mayonaise
Yoplait yogurt
Colgate toothpaste
I think thats it, we're pretty flexible. I go store brand on clothes, dairy, dishsoap, hairgel, bread...just about anything else.

I buy several brand name things, but only b/c the generics have proven to not be as good:

Tide detergent
Ivory soap (but it's so cheap, it may as well be a generic!)
Tres Emme shampoo (cheapest one that still enables me to get a comb through my hair)
Coke (but only when it goes on sale for the same price as the generic-so an occasional treat)

Pretty much all items in our house are generic, the only exceptions are things purchased on sale-sometimes the name-brands are cheaper on sale or with coupons.

I must have Jif peanut butter, Miracle Whip, Lipton tea, and Eight o' Clock coffee. Everything else can be generic.
