brand new chicken owner

i have just gottn into the chicken buisness.. i was just curious if anyone could give me information on these breeds
i have one rhode island red
and four golden comets

and one giant golden rooster.

all i know is about RIRs.. they are great brown egg layers.

the RIR hasnt layed yet, surprisingly. and shes 8 months old.. we just got her yesterday so the travel might of had somting to do with it..
my comets are laying like its going out of style, though.

Golden commets are another sex link type chicken. As with all hens, they peak produce beteen 1-2 years old and slowly decline after that. If they are pets, no problem. If they are for eggs and that is their purpose, you might want to look into rotating your laying stock.

I have four chickens. My RIR and my red-sex-linked are the nicest. They are friendly and like to be held.
