Brand New Chicken Owner

Hi everyone! This is my first post here but I’ve been reading and reading and reading all of this amazing information on the site for over a year and we just received our first babies yesterday. I’m super excited about watching them grow. Ours is an urban environment in South Florida but we still have the lovely typical predators cats dogs raccoons possum rats hawks (no gators or coyotes yet)….. Babies are in their brooder and we will be building the coop and enclosed run starting this weekend. Looking forward to learning more here!

Welcome. Agree with @Jenbirdee, adding that you should make your run, sides and top-with 1/2 inch hardware cloth and have a 2-foot hardware cloth apron around the perimeter to digging predators
