Brand new flock escapes! Help!

We set up a funnel with some chicken wire and then used a hose to spray them and some sticks and other humans to push them out of the bushes back into the coop. Unfortunately a raccoon breached the coop at 430 this morning and managed to kill two of the hens. It was still in the coop when we went out to investigate the ruckus. If it survives the blows from the baseball bat, I doubt he'll be coming back. The coop has been reinforced now. I will keep them in the pen for about a week so that they can adjust to their new home before I let them free range.

We're looking forward to getting some free range organic eggs!

Thank you everyone for your assistance!
Always seems to be something.
When I was raising my first batch of 6 chicks, a snake got in the house and nabbed 2, and another went through a hole in the floor, and from there to parts unknown.
I got several more chicks not long after that, and fixed a small coop for them outside. Lost another one ortwo to na snake that got in through teh chicken wire, and was still there
Needless to say, like the first snake, it did not live to talk about it.
One from the second batch was a roo. i wound up with 4 hens and a roo, then lost one hen. The roo got out and fried himself on a hot wire.
Then another passed away, so I wound up with two.
Both are doing well though. one lays Jumbo eggs part of the time. But, they knew where they were supposed to live, because they were not allowed out the coops and yards.
anyways, good luck, and hope ypou don't lose any more.
