Just started ed building a coop/run yesterday. I don't even know where to get chickens! Looking forward to learning fast and having fresh eggs this summer!

Welcome to BYC! And you could always get baby chicks from feed stores like Tractor Supply, Murdochs, Big R, or Gebos. You could also get chicks from a hatchery or even from Craigslist. Whatever is close to you. My first chicks came from a flea market and gebos and now I'm starting to hatch. You could also hatch eggs if you have a incubator or want to build one. You could get eggs or chicks depending on what you think fits you best.

Welcome!

As you have already received some links to good starting points, I will just wish you all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock when they arrive or pics of the coop build, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
