Brand New to incubating

when I used to do a lot of rotational hatching, I didn't worry too much about how old the older chicks were. I just held back with the newest chicks until they were about 5 days old. by that time they were "street wise" enough to blend in..
I put all species in together. chickens, guineas, turkeys, ducks and geese..
I had as high as 200 assorted birds at one time.. I would take the larger ones out when I figured they could join the free ranging flock.

wow dang and they all get along just fine? Is it easier to introduce new chicken to the flock outside free ranging? or better off in the coop? or let the rest of flock free range and put the newbies in the coop (for one so they know were home is)..... idk, the way we are gonna set it up as my coop is technically spitt into 3 section and we are gonna fence off one section (so rest of flock can still see them and such) but not directly have them together..

when they are babies,, they accept each other as they are.. all they are interested in is staying warm and eating..
when free ranging, the birds are scattered so they don't even notice new ones.
around the feeders, there will be some pecking going on, but it doesn't get too severe.. the under dog knows how to run away..
letting them look at each other may or may not work.
I got a new rooster once, kept it penned where the other rooster could see him and get used to him. after a couple of weeks I turned the new boy loose. they immediately went to fighting. that's just the way chickens are. they have to establish their own pecking order..
old roosters don't have a problem with immature roosters.. they are concerned only about the roosters who pose competition.
with my last flock, I had 5 roosters. it was a daily ritual to see who was top dog.
nobody ever got hurt..
