Do you find your boys are more willing to venture out than the girls? My three 8 week old roos will go way out into the pasture while the girls stay very close to the barn.
Also, I have one male who is apparently a loner. He never stays with the group. It kind of seems anti-chicken LOL. I don't know if he just figures he gets better pickings if he doesn't have to share or what. He has no problem being in the coop with them, just doesn't want to flock together when they are ranging.
