Bread Box Incubator

I slid the water wiggler into an empty tp tube. The temp started going down within a couple of minutes. I am going to let it go and see what it is in an hour.

Really nice pictures and details...I'd probably be tempted to try your method! Love the little "1,2,3" numbers on the electrical wires!

I couldn't not check before the hour was up!

I just went down and checked the water wiggler in the toilet paper holder.

The probe reading is 97.3

The air temp is 95.4

That is MUCH better and closer together.

I'll keeping checking and adjust the thermostat as needed.

The 6 blue orpington eggs have been set in the bread box 'bator. The eggs are some of the first eggs from Skye to be incubated so this batch is unproven. Wish me luck, Cyn!

The probe temp is flunctuating between 97.3 and 100.8 since I put the eggs in. Before that it had been fairly constant 100.8 I couldn't adjust the thermostat any better. I am waiting to see if the flunctuation settles down as the eggs come up to temp.

The water wiggler is in the tp tube. It has helped to bring the inside and outside temps closer together. They are varying by 3 - 4 degrees right now.

I am watching the temps carefully.

I just made a list of supplies. Me and the girls are gonna make one as soon as we gather the stuff and find a good box. Thanx prissy for posting this project. You make it look easy so i'm gonna try.

Hoping you have a great hatch!...Will watch this thread closely and you know we will all be right along side ya peeking into the bator over your shoulder the whole 21 days!!!.....lol

I just checked for my afternoon turning. The 'bator temps are

internal 99.3
external 99.7

*big sigh of relief*

I am working on some modifications which I will post soon.
