Bread for layers?

Can stale bread be fed to layers as a feed in addition to vegetable cuttings?

Mine go crazy for bread, but it should only be fed as a treat because it's not really that good for them.

As long as their is no mold, why not feed it to them? Better than throwing it out.

I take my old, stale bread and play a game called "Chicken Football"! Roll your bread into a ball, throw into pen and watch the football game!! It is way better, when my bro-in-law plays the commentator! Because you can call them, by their names.
"Blondie just snatched the ball from Garnet" It's great fun, and when the "ball" is gone! Roll another one and start a new game!

We are easily ammused!!
