Serrin just up their protein during their molt...I mix calf manna at about 25% of their food...I mix 10 lb of manna with their food. BOSS Blackoil sunflower seeds are an aid with feather growing too.

There are the ocassional goofballs that just enjoy picking...Cyn has one that picks the beards and I have one that picks at tail feathers. Who knows why...maybe they get in her way when she is eating or maybe they have prettier tails than she perceives hers...

Hey Serrin, I love those pics! Oatmeal and fluffy butts, perfect together! I gave mine extra meat and black oil sunflower seeds, that seemed to help them a lot during the molt.

Thank you very much for the information and advice Ladies! Since we have to take a trip into town in the next few days anyway, I'll see about getting a few of those things on the list. Along with the Ivermectin. Luckily Partyfowl informed me of where I can get that and it's right next door to where we're going for building materials. Convenient, huh?

I'm pretty sure they carry the calf manna. Not as sure about the BOSS Blackoil Sunflower seeds though. Hmmmmm.....

Rita took an awfully long time to come out of her molt this last time too. Wish I had known then what I know now. She might have spent a heck of a lot less time being Rita the Phugly, instead of Lovely Rita, Chicken Maid!

Yeah, they have black sunflower seeds, I think there like $10.00 for a fifty lb bag. ( I sure love hanging out at my farm supply stores)!!
