Breaking a broody

This my first time dealing with a broody hen and I learned about the "broody buster" wire cage thing and was putting it together and while I was doing that, I locked her out of the coop so she could try to eat and do whatever it is chickens do. Well, maybe I shouldn't have done that because now, I can't find her anywhere. I have searched under every tree and bush in the yard where the hens roam all day. My question is, how far would she go? Our yard is fenced, but I know they can get through, they just rarely do. I'm just curious to the radius I need to be searching. Or will she come back and night to roost like normal?

Thanks in advanced.

Ouch, if she really found a "new" nest... she might not come back in the dark. Your best hope may be to try and catch her when she comes out to feed... I find my chickens range only as far as they can see what they consider "home". As in within sight of our human house. They don't go down the drive much further than the bend where you can see the house.
