Breed and Gender? Comb? I'm at a loss...

Here they are after they grew up. These guys are Black Breasted Reds but Araucanas do come in black and a variety of other colors. I would love to see pics of your little guy down the road to see how he turns out. (Yes, I think it will be a boy too. Too much comb there at a young age.

Surely! And thanks for your insights. I pop up every few weeks and as the same
question on this bird. I'll likely wait until May for my next post. Hopefully by then...
He'll have grown and have become more... 'definitive(?)' breed-wise.

Well her being all black as a chick rules out most of the breeds I proposed. I think she is a bantam of sorts. I'll have to think about some more. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Black Wyandotte bantam? That looks like a rose comb to me.
