It's female coloring for a chicken, it doesn't matter what breed or mix. In fact, if you want to get better at telling earlier, studying the male/female differences in game breeds is great practice as they are bred in such a huge variety of colors/patterns.X2 that is female coloring for EEs

Here is the white one - Chickaletta - last week (6 weeks old)
Hi, all! It’s been about 3 weeks since I originally posted this and I wanted to come back and share more pictures of the chicken in question. I took these today and he/she is about 11 weeks old now. Still leaning pullet? Just so nervous that I’ll end up with a cockerel!

The red they are generally referring to is like you can see in my 6 week old EE cockerelThat’s what I want to hear! So, her chest and shoulders - that’s not the red that is found in males? I wasn’t sure what “red” meant when I was reading about the gender differences. Thank y’all so much!
Thanks for updating! Yay for eggs!I just wanted to update this thread, in case anyone else has questions or concerns over their own chickens that look similar to mine. All four of mine turned out to be hens! 3/4 of them are laying and the fourth is squatting so I’m expecting an egg any day!
