I have in my flock a RIR Roo, RIR hens, BO hens, and BR hens.
Numbers 1, 2, and 3 i have always assumed to be RIR, and number 4, a RIR/BO.
But today, when i was taking pictures of them, i noticed that the "RIR"s don't have bay colored eyes. I don't know what that means.
The only variables i can think of: 1) I never saw the stock that my RIR roo came from. I'm sure many would call him a production red, but i don't think he's a hybrid of anything. 2) There is a the remote possibility that a mutt rooster who used to live here had some influence. Can a chick have more than one father? Their wing patterns look rir, right? But those eyes are completely confusing me.
Also, i need to know what you think about their genders. I would like to sell these this weekend.
Chick Number ONE
Chick Number TWO
Chick Number THREE
Chick Number FOUR
Any help is very greatly appreciated.
