breed and gender confusion - almost five weeks old

Thank you!

Probably while you were commenting, i was searching through my old photos, and i found that darker eye color in their mamas and daddy, so i feel better now. They're lighter in color, but i'm satisfied they're not part mutt.

Thanks so much for commenting!

When they hatched, i started keeping track by who was blonder. They were much redder at hatch than they are now. Do you think there could be that much variation (as in between the first three and number 4) in rir/bo crosses?

I'd say it's possible. But I haven't hatched any out of that exact cross yet. Should warm up the bator! LOL My pullet eggs are big enough to hatch now and I have 2 BO pullets and a RIR roo

Well my camera bleaches them out some, but uh.....this is a very slowly feathering EE x BO. The colors are non-dominent white x buff.
I'm surprised to find barring and even a black feather in his wings!!

Interesting pictures.

Thanks.

I'll keep that in mind.

While i find it hard to believe that none of my hatches were rir, i'll keep in mind the possibilities. And that could definitely explain some of the interesting colors.
