Breed and Gender Help Needed

citychick, can you get a good shot of the comb on #8? I think I have an idea of what you have but want to see the comb first before I put my foot in my mouth

#8 looks like my golden wyndotte roo The coloring is a tad diffrent but I would say it is the same kind. I know some people want perfect birds but if mine are healthy and lay eggs for me I'm happy with them. I don't plan on showing them so who cares. I love my chickens!

I'll do my best...it's not too large, but it is red..."she" hasn't crowed yet, so I'm hopeful that she's a SHE (and just has a big comb and "male-like" tail feathers. I'll either post a better picture of #8's comb tonight or I'll take a better photograph. These buggers are so hard to get to hold still. ;p

Iluvmypeeps: #7's comb is very flat and can barely be seen. It is very pale. I'll double-check tonight, but I think it is in a straight line.

#1 Black silkie
#2 White silkie
#3 Partridge silkie
#4 Polish, could be a girl
#5 ?
#6 looks a Antwerp Belgian Bantam, but still likely to be a roo (because of the pointy saddle feathers)
#7 What size is it? Bantam? Do you know how old?
#8 looks like a young welsummer roo

#1 Black Silkie (c'rel)
#2 White Silkie (c'rel)
#3 Partridge Silkie (pullet)
#4 White Crested Black Polish (pullet from what I see in crest feathers, the tips kind of fade into the background. Pointed=c'rel, rounded=pullet.)
#5 OEGB (c'rel)
#6 Quail d'Anver X OEGB (c'rel)
#7 Phoenix (pullet)
#8 Crossbred game looks like. Doesn't have the heavy body of a meat or dual purpose breed. (c'rel)
#9 Red Silkie (c'rel) with defect of less than 5 toes.

Iluvmypeeps...I haven't forgotten--I've been dealing with this situation this weekend: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=351224

I'll
try to check on those photos tonight, but #8 is really happy about making hen sounds. I'm hoping, hoping, hoping. We'll see.

#4 is very similar to my older Polish hen, but this one has a few more tail feathers that fall down toward his/her butt.

#7 is a Bantam, the same age as all the others...~13 weeks now.

Alll of the babies pictured are Bantams/Silkies.

You have more than one roo. I would say that #'s 2,5,6, and 9 are roos. I'm kinda in the same boat. Every time I order speckled sussex I Always get at Least one roo - and I don't even order that many of them!! Last year, I ordered 3 - 1 was a roo, 1 was a welsummer, and 1 was a pullet! Grrrr.... Beautiful chicks though!!!
