I got some pullets labeled Asian Black's from TSC, and this one started showing different coloring than the others. It looks like a barred rock to me, but just wanting to verify. Also, unsure of the gender. It's about 6 weeks in the photos.

Also curious what this breed is? I got Creme Legbars, Prarie Bkuebells amd Olive Eggers from a local chicken breeder and ~most~ of the chicks look like this...

1. Could be a cuckoo marans, can we see the leg color? White/pink for marans, yellowish with a black wash for barred rock.

2. Could be a Cream Legbar. I'm thinking your breeder used Cream Legbar to create their olive eggers, which is why a lot of your chicks look similar. My Prairie Bluebells are not crested.

Agree that first bird is a barred rock, while comb is large, I would expect it to be more pink/red if it were a male. I am on the fence with gender. Second bird does indeed look like a cream legbar mix and appears to be a pullet. 😊

The BR has female coloring....sooooo unless it’s not a pure BR it’s female.... right?

What do you mean? I think at this point it's kind of ambiguous. If she was dark black with thin white barring and very black washed legs, I'd say that was female coloring. If he was more gray with wide white barring and very yellow legs, I'd say that was male coloring.

What I'm seeing is a dark blackish gray with thin white barring, very yellow legs, and a suspicious comb. I could see it going either way.
