Could someone please advise me as to what breed of chicken I have here and whether it is a roo or pullet? I believe it is 4-5 weeks old! Thanks

Thanks... Just as I suspected in both cases! Got him from a school hatchling program and tried to look everywhere on BYC for a breed diagnosis with no luck so I assumed it was a bit of a mix breed! My kids will be devastated he is a roo! I Brought 3 bantams as their 1st ever pets 2 weeks ago, 1 got taken by a cat and so we got this roo from daycare! 1 of the other bantams I took back suspecting it was a male and now this 1 is a roo too! Great 1st pet owning experience... Not!

Amberlinks are hybrids specifically bred for laying ability and feather sexing. So, you very well might have the offspring of red and white hybrids and maybe they were Amberlinks or one of the red sexlinked varieties. But, it's unlikely you have a pure anything from a school hatching project. Generally, farmers donate eggs from their flock for those.

And yeah, a red comb that young is a cockerel.
