Hello, I unexpectedly acquired some chicks. I believe they are at least 4 weeks old. I plan to ask the person who gave them to my mom the same question, I figured to ask here as well! I heard about wing sexing but couldn't really figure it out. If I could get input as to what breed they are and their genders, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

Wing sexing is only in certain breeds, and it's usually in the first week. You will need to wait until 5-7 weeks to see if any get red combs. They look to possibly be australorp, but not positive.

Thank you! Yeah most posts I saw about wing sexing were younger chicks, I was wondering why all of the wings looked the same to me haha. I can wait a few more weeks to find out :) , hopefully one of the ranchers can get back to me soon for the breed at least!

Most will show pink, than red combs by 5-6 weeks if they are males. I don't see anything obvious at the moment. Odds are in your favor for all females. The next week or so will tell.

They may be a mix? Two of them have very black eyes and legs, but often that is seen in pure black breeds. I'll be interested to hear what people think they are. Hope you are enjoying them!
The rancher told me they were ash chickens and I googled the adult ones and those are one type of chicken at their ranch :) Pecky is developing a lot slower and has some feathers on their feet unlike my other two, which is curious. I am enjoying them a lot. I look forward to them every morning and when I get home from work!
