I found out that I'm getting 4 chickens and 1+? on the way. ( One has gone broody and she's not letting that one leave until she hatches her eggs out! )
One of them is an Aracauna which I so wanted! But she's older and doesn't lay much anymore. But that brings to mind some questions.
I want chickens that lay the blue-green eggs. The biggest reason is sentimental. My grandfather has been dead many years and he always had chickens. Having the same kind of chickens as Grandpa had would just make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside and like he'd be smiling down on me. Silly I know but there it is.
He had some chickens that laid blue-green and dark OLIVE green eggs. He always said they were Aracaunas but after reading stuff here, I'm not quite sure that's what they were. Maybe they were Easter eggers???
